PURPOSE:To limit the quantity of light to an area where the quantity of light received exceeds a fixed value among light receiving areas of a photodetecting means by decreasing the transmissivity of a luminous flux from an object partially. CONSTITUTION:This invention is applied for the photometer of camera which is provided with a dimmer part 3 comprising a liquid crystal display device, a photodetecting part 2 comprising a CCD photodetector 2 and a CPU1. Light from an object is received being transmitted entirely through all liquid crystal pixels of the liquid crystal display device and the transmissivity of the liquid crystal pixel in a area with the quantity of light received below a specified value is decreased while it is increased in an area with the quantity of light received below a reference value smaller than a specified value to receive the light from the subject again. Thus, even when there is a part having a luminance extremely high at a part of the object, an output of the photodetcting part 2 is kept from exceeding a saturation voltage of a CCD photodetector. |
