It comprises: - a bearing surface (4) which is axial with respect to the conveying lines (2, 3); - a conveyor (5) for pushing the articles (6) along the bearing surface (4); - a system (9) for recognising the articles; - at least one transfer transporter (10) oriented in a divergent manner with respect to the geometrical axis of the bearing surface (4), the said transporter being displaceable vertically in response to an order given by the recognition apparatus (9) so that the said articles are offset towards one of the longitudinal edges of the bearing surface (4). <IMAGE>
