PURPOSE:To provide a process for production of a developer carrying member capable of easily improving the electrostatic chargeability of an elastic layer even if a material to improve the electrostatic chargeability is not dispersed and added into this elastic layer. CONSTITUTION:A voltage is applied between a core shaft 3 and a counter electrode 12 by an AC power source 13 in air or gaseous nitrogen atmosphere in a hermetically closed chamber 11 to effect a glow discharge in the chamber 11 and the circumference of the elastic layer 2 is made to be covered with glow light. |
