PURPOSE:To enable cleaning the polluted air inside an intersection without marring the appearance of the sidewalks and without specially occupying a space on the sidewalk. CONSTITUTION:The subject relates to an air-cleaning device 11 for cleaning the air inside an intersection 1. There are provided an air suction hole 13 opening to the intersection 1, air outlets 15 provided outside the intersection 1, air passageways 17 each connecting the air suction hole 13 to one of the air outlets 15 and at least in part extending underground, and fans each in one of the air passageways 17 and designed to make air flow from the air suction hole 13 to the air outlet 15. Each of the air outlets 15 is formed of a body of soil 25 on which plants are grown and which allows air to flow through vertically and a soil receptacle 23 in which to hold the soil 25. Each of the air passageways 17 is connected to the bottom of one of these soil receptacles 23. |
