Method for manufacturing a slide (10) for a window (drop glass) (G), especially for a car door, consisting of a profile section made of material(s) of the elastomeric type with a U-shaped overall section, of which the sealing lips (14, 15), the internal faces (18, 19) of the branches (11, 12) and, if appropriate, the bottom face (13) are coated with a material (20, 21, 22, ...) with good slip characteristics chosen from the polyolefin family. In order to shape the slide, particularly with an open angle, the profile section made by extrusion or coextrusion of the material(s) of elastomeric type and of the coating material is locally deformed in extension to cause the said material(s) of elastomeric type to stretch, this stretch (extension) then being retained owing to the absence of "shape memory" of the said coating material. <IMAGE>
