The invention relates to a caterpillar track drive device. It comprises a caterpillar track (10) formed of an endless flexible strip (12) internally fitted with at least one row of studs (18) which are situated in the direction of the length of the strip and spaced apart by a constant pitch (PP) and each delimited by two transverse faces (20) forming an angle (8) of between 30 and 40 DEG with respect to a plane normal to the strip of the caterpillar track, as well as a driving wheel (14) over which the caterpillar track is wound and which is provided with drive means (42) able to interact with the studs (18).
