The invention relates to an apparatus making it possible, on request by the user, to Distribute and/or Modify one or more information carriers. The apparatus according to the invention is characterised in that it comprises a central unit and mass memory device, a device for writing and possibly reading information carriers, a device allowing the manipulation of the information carriers during their transit through the apparatus and a device for capturing the request. Moreover, the apparatus can comprise a payment device, a device for remote dialogue with the apparatus, a device for displaying the progress of the process, a device for advertising at the point of sale, an invoice printing device, a label printing device and a device for cancelling the current request.
