The invention relates to a watering device for a poultry crammer installation which comprises a series of juxtaposed individual cages (1, 1') each suitable for accommodating one bird (C) and a wall (10) of which has an opening (100) for the neck of the bird (C) to pass through. This device comprises a watering rail (40) equipped with a series of individual small pipes (41) and the said rail (40) is provided with means (3, 30, 31, 32) which allow it to be made to move between a high and deployed position in which it extends along the cages (1, 1') in the vicinity of the wall (10) having an opening (100), and a low and retracted position in which the said wall (10) is cleared, for the purpose of cramming the poultry. <IMAGE>
