PURPOSE:To enable a metal vapor laser device to operate stably at a constant laser output for a, long time by a method wherein a discharge tube is prevented from decreasing in effective sectional area due to bending so as to prevent a reduction in laser output. CONSTITUTION:A discharge tube 2 is housed in a vessel 21 in a rotatable manner, one window flange 22 is set rotatable, the rotatable window flange 22 and the discharge tube 2 are linked together with a holding mechanism 27, the discharge tube 2 is rotated with the rotation of the window flange 22, and the discharge tube 2 is rotated around its axis without disassembling a metal vapor laser device, whereby the discharge tube 2 is so changed in a direction of bending caused by high-temperature creep as to cancel its bending. |
