The invention relates to a row of aeroplane seats with a seat frame which is common to all of the seats and has cross struts (12, 13) and frame feet (14) connected non-movably to the latter, with seat-part cushion carriers and backrests (22, 23, 23') which can be adjusted in inclination. In this design, part of the seats-part cushion carrier and part of the backrests (22, 23, 23') are constructed as subassemblies which can be displaced into at least two positions in the longitudinal direction of the cross struts (12, 13). The backrest (22) of a centre seat has a centre part (24) which is positioned between two side parts (25 and 25') which are each assigned a lock mechanism (51) by means of which in one position of the movable subassemblies the two side parts (25, 25') can be connected positively to the centre part (24) in order to form parts of the centre seat, and in the second position the side parts (25, 25') can be connected positively to the backrest (23, 23') of each of the seats laterally adjoining the centre seat, in order to form parts of the two side seats. <IMAGE>
