In the case of a ceiling air outlet, the floor area designed to let the air out is of divided design. The individual elements of the floor area are arranged as a whole to be displaceable and/or pivotable. The individual elements are assigned horizontal axes which run through the mid-point of the floor area or end at the mid-point. Arranged on the inner side of the wall of the housing, at the lower edge, is a bearing for the individual elements of the floor area, the bearing being formed by an annular disc. Each individual element of the floor area is connected via at least one rigid connecting element to a vertically displaceable carrier. This carrier is assigned an electrically or pneumatically driveable motor. By virtue of the design according to the invention, it is possible to introduce into the room easily controllable air of a different temperature. Between the purely horizontal or vertical jet, all intermediate jet directions can be set in a defined manner, it being possible to reduce impermissible thermal layering.
