Gear machine

A gear machine (10) has two covers (11, 12) with an intermediate plate (13) located in between. Two gears (16, 17) are arranged in an aperture (14) of the intermediate plate (13). A distance part (25) is arranged in each case between the intermediate plate (13) and the covers (11, 12). An axial gap can be set between the gears (16, 17) and the intermediate plate (13) via the thickness of the distance part (25). In this way, the gears (16, 17) and the intermediate plate (13) can be machined flush in their common thickness accurately and simply in one operation. In order to improve the wear behaviour, the individual parts of the gear machine (10) can be coated, for example, with ceramic material (28) or carbon.
