Circuit arrangement for the transmission of signals

In known circuit arrangements a fault detection unit is provided between sensors and control units. However, the said fault detection unit does not indicate the magnitude and location of the fault. Therefore, the arrangement according to the invention provides for the control unit to have a circuit for forming output signals (Ua) which are below or above the normal working voltage range if there is a break in the connection lines so that the said break is detected by a connected diagnostic system or the fault evaluation circuit. Thus, it has become possible to determine whether breaks in connection lines have caused the fault.
