The invention relates to a device for measurement of the skin movements of an individual or of an animal, with a measurement head (12) having a rigid, cup-shaped body (22, 28) whose opening faces the skin (54) of the individual. The body defines a cavity (32) whose volume can be changed by movement of the skin. A sensor (16) records the change in volume of the cavity and emits a signal to a controller (18) which determines the skin movement from the signal. For measurement of the movements of the cardiac wall of an individual, the cavity (32) is essentially funnel-shaped. The sensor is a gas pressure sensor (16) which generates an electrical signal from which the controller (18) determines the movement of the cardiac wall.
