摘要 A digital phase comparator is a component of a clock generator in a phase-locking loop and is used for frequency and phase comparison between a reference clock and an oscillator clock. The object of the invention is to specify a phase comparator which can be produced simply with digital circuits and allows high phase resolution, with high linearity, over a large measurement range. In order to achieve the object, functions and components, which in any case are carried out or are present, respectively, in a digital phase-locking loop, are used for measuring the phase difference. According to the invention, the circuit arrangement consists of a counter (51) clocked by the oscillator (1), the count result of which is fed in the clock-pulse of the reference frequency to a register (21), at the output of which a digital value is provided as a measure of the phase difference. Since the counter (51) is usually a component of a digital phase-locking loop, only a register (21) of simple design is required in the present case, instead of a known phase comparator. The resolution of the phase comparator can be increased by raising the clock frequency, and the measurement range can be increased by spreading the data signal of the counter (51). <IMAGE>
