In the case of a cam follower (1) for a valve gear of an internal combustion engine, a pin (7) on which a roller (5) is mounted for contact with the cam is to be secured in a simple and inexpensive manner. For this purpose, this pin (7) is, according to the invention, of hollow cylindrical design, a fixing element (27) being press-fitted with an interference fit into each end of its longitudinal hole (26). By means of this press fit, the pin (7) is fixed positively and/or frictionally in its hole (11). This measure eliminates the caulking of the ends of the pin (7) in the housing (2) which was hitherto carried out. <IMAGE>
