OPTICAL PICK UP APPARATUS FOR CDP

The holder has a vertical opening at one end for the laser beam in communication with a horizontal opening. A mirror at the interface between the openings directs the beam across the disc under the control of the optical hybrid unit at the other end of the holder. The latter is suspended from a block with leaf springs and a junction block allowing slight horizontal rotation. The objective lens, laser diode and photodiode are fixed to it so that their optical axes are never mutually inclined but always coincide.
