PURPOSE:To improve startability at a cold district, by a method wherein, when no step-on of an accelerator pedal is effected during and after the starting of an engine having an automatic speed change gear, a clutch is engaged to drive the gear of the speed change gear, and warming up of the speed change gear is practicable. CONSTITUTION:A working actuator 20 of a fuel injection pump 11 of a diesel engine 10, actuators 17 and 18 for shift and select, respectively, and a clutch actuator 19 are automatically controlled by a microcomputer 21, and automatic speed change is effected by means of inputs from an actuator 25, a car speed sensor 26, and a number of revolutions of engine sensor 27. When no step-on of an accelerator pedal 24 is made during and after the starting of an engine, through engagement of a clutch 30, the gear of a speed change gear 15 is drivable, and warming up operation of the speed change gear is performed. During a stop, through disengagement of the clutch, warming up operation of the speed change gear part of the automatic speed change gear is practicable, and startability in a cold district is improved. |
