A gas sepn. membrane comprises: (a) a unit(s) derived from formula (I); and (b) a unit(s) derived from an aromatic dihalogenated ketone moiety; Z = 1-10C alkyl or 6-12C aromatic gp.; Y = 1-10C alkyl; n = 1-4; m = 0 or 1; and R' = single bond. Also claimed is a process for sepg. a gas(es) from a gaseous mixt. comprising contacting the mixt. with the first side of the gas sepn. membrane in a manner to cause a portion of the mixt. to pass through the membrane to a permeate side, the resulting gas mixt. on the permeate side being enriched in a component(s) over that of the mixt. on the first side.
