PURPOSE:To obtain heat resistant solidified sulfuric acid having a characteristic main diffraction line in the specified position in a powder X-rays diffraction graphic due to CuKalpha X-rays by heating zirconium phosphate in sulfuric acid. CONSTITUTION:This solid acid compd. is a compd. obtained by the reaction of zirconium phosphate and sulfuric acid and has the characteristic main diffraction lines in the positions of 14.22 deg., 19.98 deg., 23.70 deg., 28.77 deg. and 46.24 deg. as 2theta in a powder X-rays diffraction chart due to CuKalpha X-rays. The above-mentioned reaction is performed by heating zirconium phosphate in concd. sulfuric acid and heating temp. is regulated to about 70-300 deg.C. As zirconium phosphate, amorphous or crystalline compd. may be used but a compd. having a stratiform structure is preferable. The above-mentioned solid acid compd. retains H2SO4 in the inside of crystal thereof by solidifying it and has such property that H2SO4 is isolated at 400-500 deg.C. |
