PURPOSE:To manufacture a nitride sintered high-speed steel for a dot pin having superior wear resistance and fatigue strength by cold working a sintered high- speed steel contg. specified amounts of Cr, Mo, W, V, N and C into a wire and by nitriding the wire under proper conditions. CONSTITUTION:A sintered high-speed steel contg., by weight, 3-5% Cr, 1-9% Mo, 2-10% W (W+2Mo=16-20%), 3-8% V, <=0.1% N and C satisfying a formula 0.4<C<Ceq-12/14N-0.05 [Ceq=0.19+0.017(W+2Mo)+0.22V] as alloying components is cold worked into a wire. This wire is nitrided at 900-1,200 deg.C to increase the N content to >=0.2%. Thus, a wire having superior wear resistance, fatigue strength, high bending strength, relatively low specific gravity and satisfactory seizing resistance is obtd. |
