PURPOSE:To purify gas discharged from an airbag to the outside, following the operation of the airbag. CONSTITUTION:A gas purifying means 50 composed of a vessel 52 with ventilation property and storing a gas purification agent 53 is provided in a gas stream passage near the gas spouting port 21 of an inflator 20. The inflator 20 generates gas based on the signals from various kinds of sensors in the case of the collision of a vehicle and spouts the gas from a spouting hole 21 radially. The spouted gas is filled in an airbag 30 through a vessel 54 storing the purification agent 53 and expands the airbag 30. At this time, harmful gas contained in the gas filled in the airbag 30 is purified by the purification agent 53 in the vessel 52 in accordance with its passing through the inside of the vessel 50. The airbag 30 discharges the purified inner gas from a discharge port 31 into the room of the vehicle and then shrinks. |
