PURPOSE:To form the style of connection between the opening end of an air bag and two retainer member in surface contact and secure high sealing performance so as to evade stress concentration by connecting two retainer members mutually in such a state of sandwiching the open end of the air bag. CONSTITUTION:An air bag device 1 has an inflater 2 for making gas generated at collision of a vehicle, a lower retainer 3 for storing and holding the whole of the inflater 2, and an upper retainer 4 connected to the upper part of the lower retainer 3. An air bag 5 stored in the inside of the upper retainer 4 in a folded state and a lid 6 for closing the upper opening of the upper retainer 4 are also provided and they are attached to an inside space opposite to an assistant driver's seat in the instrument panel 7. The lower retainer 3 of which both ends are closed has a cylindrical shape, the upper retainer 4 has an approximately trapezoidal cross section, and both the retainers 3, 4 are integrally connected to each other between a seal face 9 and a flange 10 in such a state of sandwiching the open end 5a of the air bag 5. |
