PURPOSE:To obtain a phosphorus-free lube oil composition for engine oil, etc., having excellent wear resistance, extremepressure properties, friction characteristics, oxidation stability, caulking resistance, corrosion resistance, etc., by mixing a lube base oil with a specific dithlocarbamic acid metal salt. CONSTITUTION:A dialkylamine is reacted with carbon disulfide and sodium hydroxide to prepare sodium dialkyldithiocarbamate, which is reacted with a bivalent metal salt to give a dithiocarbamic acid metal salt of the formula (M is zinc, copper, nickel,, iron, cadmium, silver, lead, antimony, tin or bismuth; R<1> to R<4> are each a 1-30C hydrophilic group and at least one of them is a secondary hydrophilic group). The compound of the formula is mixed with an oil-soluble amine compound and a lube base oil, and subjected to complex formation treatment at 190 deg.C for 5 minutes under stirring by heating to give t' an extremely low-phosphorus or phosphorus-free lube oil composition having excellent wear resistance, extreme-pressure properties, friction characteristics, oxidation stability, caulking resistance, corrosion resistance, etc. |
