PURPOSE:To obtain color ceramics having high mechanical strength by which it can well withstand practical use and excellent in thermal stability. CONSTITUTION:A compsn. contg. ZrO2 and Nb2O5 and/or Ta2O5 is used as a base. In this base the molar ratio of (Nb2O5 and/or Ta2O5):ZrO2 is 10:90 to 20:80. One or more kinds of oxides, nitrides or carbides of elements selected from among Ce, Pr, Nd, Ho, Er, Mn, V, Cr, Sr, Co, Cu, Sb, Bi, Pb and W are added as auxiliary colorants to the base to obtain the objective color ceramics having high mechanical strength, excellent in thermal stability and also having high reliability and various color tones. |
