PURPOSE:To improve thermal response and the storage stability of image part by adding a specific salicylic acid derivative or a metal salt thereof and alkyl gallate as an electrone acceptive compd. reacting with a dye precursor under heating to develop a color. CONSTITUTION:A thermal recording material contains a usually colorless or light-colored dye precursor and an electron acceptive compd. reacting with the dye precursor at the time of heating to develop a color. In this case, as the electron acceptive compd., at least one kind of a salicylic acid derivative represented by general formula I (X1 and X2 are each a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an aralkyl group, an aryl group or a halogen atom and R is an alkyl group, an alkenyl group, an aralkyl group or an aryl group) or a metal salt thereof and alkyl gallate represented by general formula II (R is an alkyl group) are added. |
