Antibacterial compositions comprise a detergent and a synergistic combination of 3,4,4'- trichlorocarbanilide and 2,4,4'-trichloro-2- hydroxydiphenyl ether wherein the weight ratio of the carbanilide to the diphenyl ether in the detergent is from ten to forty parts of carbanilide to one part of diphenyl ether. The composition may, for example, be in the form of a water-soluble soap. |
