An apparatus for injecting gas, for example air, into a packaging tube (1), or the like, comprises an injection needle (8) and a pneumatic cylinder piston assembly (5) for moving the injection needle between a rest position in which the injection needle is spaced from the packaging tube, and a working position in which the injection needle projects into the packaging tube. The injection needle is made as support of the piston of the cylinder piston assembly and projects with its injection end out of the bottom of the cylinder housing of the cylinder piston assembly, wherein the injection needle is provided with a gas inlet opening (13) lying within the cylinder housing at the pressure side of the piston when the injection needle is in the working position. |
