The method for anchoring a submerged long wire-like object (7), such as a pipeline or a cable, consists in arranging around the wire-like object (7), in first and second submerged regions close to the emergent ends of the object, a plurality of metal sleeve tubes (10) spaced apart, in joining the sleeve tubes (10) situated in one and the same region together using an auxiliary conducting cable (11) which is in electrical contact with each of the sleeve tubes (10), and in powering each auxiliary conducting cable (11) with direct current from the negative terminal of a DC generator (12), the positive terminal of which is connected to a buried or submerged metal component (14) constituting a shedding device so as to provoke, around each sleeve tube (10), the formation of a hard anchoring calcium-magnesium deposit in which the precipitation of carbonates is promoted. <IMAGE>
