Transport device for stems of bananas

The device comprises hooking means for suspending the stems vertically and means of wedging these stems. The stems are wedged between vertical partitions, one of them being constituted by an inflatable pneumatic mattress (6) and the others by rigid walls (15) serving as doors provided with vertical compartments and disposed on both sides of the said mattress. The device is preferably embodied in the form of a container provided with end frames which support in the longitudinal median vertical plane, by means of longitudinal members (2 and 3), the pneumatic mattress (6) and also the side walls (15) in the form of honeycombed doors. This transport device makes it possible to handle stems whilst significantly reducing scraping phenomena. <IMAGE>
