<p>A multi-axial, three-dimensional fabric and its method of manufacture formed from five yarn systems including warp yarns (12) arranged in parallel with the longitudinal direction of the fabric, a first pair of bias yarns layers (18) positioned on the front surface of the warp yarns and a second pair of bias yarn layers (18) positioned on the back surface of the warp yarns, vertical yarns (16) arranged in a thicknesswise direction of the fabric in a perpendicularly intersecting relationship to the warp yarns, and weft yarns (14) arranged in the widthwise direction of the fabric and in a perpendicularly intersecting relationship to the warp yarns so as to provide a multiaxial, three-dimensional fabric (F) with enhanced resistance to in-plane shear.</p> |
