A motion simulating device (10) for providing the user full freedom of motion in coordination with the user's senses of sight, hearing, and touch. The motion simulating device (10) consists of a generally spherical capsule (20) supportively abutted by a number of rollers (60, 99). At least one of the rollers is a multidirectional active roller (60) that frictionally engages the spherical capsule (20) causing the spherical capsule to rotate in any direction. The user utilizing the motion simulating device (10) interacts with a virtual reality system to impart the electronic simulation of physical reality and physical input from the device to the user.
