The invention relates to a lock, especially to a motor-vehicle tailgate lock, with a lock cylinder (2) which is operatively connected for locking and unlocking to a pivotably mounted lever element (16), the pivotability of which is blocked in the locking position. This is to prevent the possibility of being able to open the tailgate in an unauthorised manner via the lever element (16) simply by drilling open the body panel (4). This blocking effect can be achieved in an especially simple way according to the invention in that the lever element (16) is held displaceably by at least one body-side receptacle (23) and can be brought into a positive connection with this in the event of a displacement movement initiated via the lock cylinder (2) (Figure 2). <IMAGE>
