摘要 <p>A vehicle suspension system comprising individual double-acting fluid rams (1, 2, 3, 4) connected between each wheel and the vehicle body to provide support, each ram having an upper hydraulic chamber (1a, 2a, 3a, 4a) and a lower hydraulic chamber (1b, 2b, 3b, 4b). Conduits (14, 15, 16, 17) individually communicate the upper chamber (1a, 2a, 3a, 4a) of respective rams (1, 2, 3, 4) with the lower chamber (1b, 2b, 3b, 4b) of the respective diagonally opposite ram (1, 2, 3, 4). A fluid reservoir (27) and a pump (29) are arranged to draw fluid from, or pump fluid to, the conduits (14, 15, 16, 17). Body attitude control valves (34, 35, 36, 37) are provided for respective wheels as well as a general control valve (31) operable to connect each conduit (14, 15, 16, 17) individually to the pump (29) or the reservoir (27) to respectively supply fluid to, or draw fluid from, the connected conduit (14, 15, 16, 17). Individual actuators are operable in response to each wheel's relative position to the vehicle body to effect selective actuation of respective control valve (34, 35, 36, 37), and a load equalizing unit (18), in response to relative pressure in conduits (14, 15, 16, 17), actuates valve (31) to connect individual contduits (14, 15, 16, 17) to the pump (29) or the reservoir (27) to maintain a preselected attitude of the vehicle body.</p>
