A part or the whole of a nucleic acid encoding the fimbrillin protein of Porphyromonas gingivalis; an antigen comprising a part or the whole of the above protein; an antibody against the above antigen; and a medicine containing the above antibody. The above acid and antibody are useful for detecting P. gingivalis, and the antibody is useful for preventing or ameliorating periodontal diseases. |
