Displacement meter for fastening to motor vehicle wheels, which generates and transmits displacement-dependent data, the entire measuring device being fastened to and rotating with the motor vehicle wheel and a counterbalanced baseplate being mounted so that it can rotate in the displacement meter, and a gyroscope whose axis is perpendicular to the axis of rotation of the motor vehicle wheel being arranged on this baseplate.
