Conveyor comprising a guiding device (1) for a conveyor chain (5) for transport of objects. The objects are carried by load-carriers connected to the conveyor chain. The chain forms a closed, endless loop which is operated by means of a driving device. The chain is formed by a plurality of carrier elements (6) arranged in a row, and connection means. These means connect the carrier elements to each other so that the chain may be deflected both vertically and laterally. The guiding device controls the extension of the chain both vertically and laterally through the fact that it presents a channel (4) in which the chain runs and in which it is guided by inwardly facing sliding surfaces for the chain, adapted to the cross section of the carrier elements. The guiding device presents a profile beam which encloses the channel which opens outwardly by means of a longitudinal slot opening. By means of this opening, the load-carriers are connected to the chain and are carried with it. Slide elements (3) arranged in the profile beam are provided with the inwardly facing sliding surfaces.
