Process for manufacturing an electric insulating sheet

A process is to be specified for manufacturing an electric insulating sheet (insulating film) comprising a sheet composed of vermiculite particles. The process comprises the following process steps: a) dipping the sheet into an ion exchange solution, b) exchange of cations present in said ion exchange solution for cations of the vermiculite, c) followed by cleaning of the insulating sheet stock thus formed with at least one solvent and subsequent drying thereof. The electric insulating sheet thus produced is suitable for use in insulations free of partial discharges over wide voltage ranges. <IMAGE>
