METHOD FOR SEPARATING METALS AND ALCOHOLS FROM AN EMULSIFIED ORGANIC/AQUEOUS EFFLUENT

A method for treating an emulsified organic/aqueous effluent stream that comprises water, at least one metal complex and alcohol. The treatment comprises the steps of: separating the emulsified organic/aqueous effluent stream into an aqueous phase stream which comprises water, at least one metal complex, and residual alcohol and an organic phase stream which comprises alcohol, residual water and a metal complex; separating the aqueous phase stream into a metal and organic enriched stream and aqueous stream; recycling the metal and organic enriched stream to the emulsified organic/aqueous effluent stream; and discharging the aqueous stream.
