Method and apparatus for attaching of components in pants-type garments

Apparatus and process for use in a continuous production process for clothing pieces for spotwise joining along laterally opposite hip sides of the clothing piece. Front sections and rear sections (10), (11) of the clothing piece (1) which in each case comprise upper and lower layers (2), (3) which contain thermally weldable material are laid one on top of the other and advanced to an ultrasonic welding device. A die of the welding device is provided on a roller surface and comprises a plurality of projections which are arranged at a distance from one another in a specific joining pattern. The process described and the device facilitate the continuous production of desired discontinuous joining patterns. Elastic elements to be fastened around hip and leg openings are received in depressions which are formed between in each case two elastic projections and therefore do not interfere with the welding process.
