NICKEL ELECTRODE PLATE AND MANUFACTURE THEREOF AND ALKALINE STORAGE BATTERY USING IT

PURPOSE:To provide nickel electrode plates and manufacturing method improving their productivity and enhance the performance of the alkaline storage batteries using them. CONSTITUTION:Nickel hydroxide having fine pores with 1000 or smaller radius is mixed with a cobalt compound in an aqueous alkaline solution and oxidized in the solution to make cobalt oxyhydroxide exist in the fine pores and at the same time to make cobalt oxyhydroxide exist in the surface and thus provide a nickel electrode plate with improved conductivity among active materials and between the active materials and an electron collecting body and the resulting nickel electrode is used for alkaline storage batteries. As a result, aging process and charging for chemical conversion are made unnecessary and productivity of the batteires is improved.
