POSITION SENSING SYSTEM OF TUNNEL EXCAVATING MACHINE

PURPOSE:To provide the position sensing system of a tunnel excavating machine capable of sensing a position with high accuracy at a real time even in a tunnel having a small bore diameter. CONSTITUTION:A displacement-angle measuring sensor 11 consisting of a triaxial optical gyro is installed near a blade 10 in the body 18 of a drill 202, and a communication cable 13 is inserted into press-fit pipe successively extended to the rear section of the drill 202 in a successively connective manner. An arithmetic display section measuring and displaying the root and position of the drill 202 from a displacement-angle data obtained through the communication cable 13 from the displacement-angle measuring sensor 11 and the distance of excavation acquired from the press-fitting length of the press-fit pipe 204 is mounted on a ground section, and the direction of the drill can be controlled on the basis of the result of the measurement.
