PURPOSE:To provide a connector for a flat type IC suitable for high speed transmission. CONSTITUTION:Signal contacts 12 and ground contacts having different shapes are alternately arranged between a plurality of ribs formed in an insulator 11. A pressing plate 4 on an upper surface of the insulator 11 and a cam 5 movable in the connector lengthwise direction relative to the pressing plate 4 are respectively arranged, and these are integrally nipped by a beam 6 having flexibility.
