PURPOSE:To provide a method and a device for automatically machining an end face of a round rod used, for example, as vertical bars or horizontal bars of a reticulate fence so as to insert the rod easily in a hole of a hollow pipe being a drum edge. CONSTITUTION:An intermittently moved round rod W is pressed from above during a stop and given several revolutions. The corner of the end face thereof during rotation is ground by a belt grinder 4 to form a tapered-off end face. |
