<p>PURPOSE:To completely release a sheet so as to facilitate a jam removing process by enabling belt-like conveying means to be separated from an image bearing medium in an image forming part, and by releasing a conveyer roller from a sheet press-contact condition when the operate removes a jamming sheet. CONSTITUTION:A conveyer belt 17 is carried by an elevating unit U so as to make contact with and to separate from photosensitive drums 25, 35, 45 in image forming parts 3, 5, 6. Further, a pair of register rollers 11 is released from its sheet press-contact condition by means of a register roller releasing cam 11a with the use of the elevating unit U in synchronization with the operation of the elevating unit U which separates the conveyer belt 17 from the photosensitive drums 25, 35, 45. With this arrangement, the conveyer belt 17 is separated from the image bearing medium 25, 35, 45 in the image forming parts 3, 5, 6 during a jam removing process, and simultaneously, the pair of register rollers 11 are released from the sheet press-contact condition so as to completely release a sheet, thereby it is possible to enable the operator to simply carry out the jam removing process.</p> |
