<p>Reduced pyrimidine nucleosides and nucleotides (II) and (IIa):- (II, Z = OH) (IIa, Z = NH2)R1 = H, Me, HOCH2, Cl, F, CF3; R2 = H, 2-12C carboxylic acyl, -PO(OH)2; X = H, OH, O-acyl, -PO(OH)2 or X + R2 is: O2P(O)OH; Y = H, acyl, mono-, di-or tri-phosphoric acid residue. (II), (IIa), and the known cpds. (III), below, are inhibitors of cytosinearabinoside deaminases, this cpd. being an antitumour and antiviral agent. Countercurrent extrn. in n-BuOH-water yields 4-hydroxy-1-beta-D-ribofurano-syltetrahydro-2(1H)-pyrimidinone and 1-beta-D-ribofuranosyltetrahydro-2(1H)-pyrimidinone.</p> |
