A cleaning agent comprises 0À1 to 20% by weight of a water soluble salt of a water soluble polyester, the acid component consisting of a dicarboxylic acid residue and the alcohol component being derived from a dialkanolamine or its N-substituted derivative, the polyester having been rendered water soluble by the introduction of one or more sulphonic acid groups or alkylsulphonic acid groups, and at least one compound from the class of anionic, nonionic and ampholytic surface active washing substances. Specified dicarboxylic acids are malonic, succinic, glutaric, adipic, sebacic, maleic and fumaric or benzenedicarboxylic acids and mixtures thereof. Specified dialkanolamines are N-methyldiethanolamine, N-methyldipropanolamine, N-ethyldiethanolamine, N-propyldipropanolamine, N-propylenediethanolamine, N - butyldiethanolamine, N - dodecyldiethanolamine, N - oleyldiethanolamine, N - cyclohexyldipropanolamine, N - phenyldiethanolamine and N-propyldiethanolamine. The molar ratio of dicarboxylic acid to dialkanolamine is 1: 1. The usual inorganic building agents may also be present. |
