METHOD FOR DRYING, HEATING AND HEAT-CLEANING TUNDISH

PURPOSE:To enable a further perfect heat-cleaning without damaging a lining refractory in a low running cost. CONSTITUTION:A tundish is closed with a cover providing at least one system of a heat storage type burner system 4, in which one pair of burners are alternately burnt in a short time with the air for combustion at high temp. near the temp. of combustion gas by alternately executing the supplying of the air for combustion and the exhausting of the combustion gas through a heat storage body. One pair of burners 5, 6 are alternately burnt in the tundish and also, the combustion gas is exhausted through the heat storage body in the burner during stopping the combustion and the atmosphere in the tundish having uniform temp. distribution is formed to heat the lining refractory. A part of the combustion gas is exhausted from a nozzle at the bottom part of the tundish. As the preheat of the air for combustion by recovering the heat of the exhaust combustion gas, the setting temp. in the tundish is made to be high, and even in the case an oxygen-enriched burner is not used, heat conductive quantity is increased and the temp. raising time can be shortened and the running cost can be reduced.
