PURPOSE:To automatically switch a sound output mode corresponding to the source mode of a sound input signal. CONSTITUTION:The sound input signal is applied through a band pass filter group 1 to a vowel discrimination system circuit 2 and when vowel is recognized, a vowel length is detected by a vowel time counter 3. On the other hand, the output of the band pass filter group 1 is also applied to a silence discrimination system circuit 4, silent time counter 5, continuous sound discrimination system circuit 6 and continuous sound time counter 7 and a low level sound length and a high level sound length are respectively detected. A mode discrimination system circuit 8 discriminates a fuzzy rule stored in a fuzzy rule memory 9 into a talk mode, cinema/drama mode, or music mode, for example, and sound outputs are provided corresponding to the respective modes. |
