<p>Yttrium vanadate phosphor is activated by europium and tin. Pref. that the tin is present in concentration of 1.10-3 - 1.10-6g. atoms per mole yttrium vanadate. Such phosphors give improve balance of the red, green and blue components with higher brightness in colour television tubes and improved red emission in mercury vapour lamps. Such a phosphor is prepared from 1000 g. Y2O3, 82 g. Eu2O3, 1130 g. NH4VO3 and 0.15 g. SnO2 by heating at 11-1300 degrees C, and extracting the melt with 10% ammonia, filtering, washing and drying.</p> |
